Date: October 16-17, 2017, Sepsiszentgyörgy (Romania)
Motto of the competition: “We are offering you the chance to show what you are capable of!”
Cluster TMEC – Transylvanian Mechanical Engineering Cluster – organizes a technical competition named “Start DIY Contest” on 16 and 17 October in Sepsiszentgyörgy, a 2 day competition with different challenges each day. A competition organized for high school students interested in technical stuff or engineering, who like to make things by themselves and want to share their creations with others.
The organization of study competitions has a decade-long tradition. The organization of study competitions has a ten-year tradition, but still in a traditional and theoretical way. Changes and the current transformation of the education and training structure are a major challenge and a significant change and we want to introduce a new trend to facilitate the need of early professional preparing.
Such competitions are an important part for preparing for the professional life. They help to achieve good results, stimulate and assist in meeting expectations. At the same time, they reinforce the potential for failure and contribute to the formation of personality through their human and leader forming role.
As part of the Saint George Startup Week, our goal is to encourage remarkable achievements to enable competitors to develop the right competitive skills and to transform knowledge into a competitive advantage in order to cope with the rapid changes of the current economy.
