Date: September 13-14, 2017, Greece
On September 13-14 2017, 50 cluster practitioners from 17 countries participated on the 10th European Cluster Collaboration Matchmaking mission in Thessaloniki, in Greece.
On the first day, the cluster representatives had the opportunity to get a look at each other’s activity with the help of the organizers the “Cluster One Minute Pitch session”, also the coffee breaks and lunch break were a good moment to discuss and get to know each other, and to have a networking session at the “informal networking cocktail” held at the Center for Research and Technology Hellas.
On the second day of the mission, on the C2C matchmaking session, where all cluster representatives had the opportunity to give their feedback to Christophe Guichard, Policy Officer at DG GROW and Marc Pattinson, coordinator of the ECCP, about the usefulness of such matchmaking events.
The outcome of the matchmaking session was a transnational industry focused cluster-to-cluster collaboration established between Transylvanian Mechanical Engineering Cluster, represented by Kinga Kristó, South West Hungarian Engineering Cluster, represented by Berta Szabó, Serbian Automotive Cluster, represented by Igor Vijatov, and ARIA Normandy Cluster, represented by Vincent Civita.
The new cluster partnership than agreed on the followings: organizing common events such as B2B, B2C and C2C meetings for clusters and cluster members, workshops and roundtable discussions regarded to industry 4.0.; cluster visits; supporting each other’s event and seeking for COSME, H2020 and Interreg Danube projects.
At the beginning of December, the first opportunity to work together has appeared: organizing a stakeholder workshop at the Second European Industry Day in Bruxelles.
Many thanks for the support of the organizers of the matchmaking mission in Thessaloniki and to the ECCP team.
